Greetings YBLA Supporters!

As we reflect on the second quarter of 2025, we’re filled with gratitude and pride in what we’ve accomplished together. In April, our Legacy Builders Gala at the UNCC Marriott was a tremendous success—thanks to your support, we raised over $170,000 to further our mission of developing young Black leaders.

In May, we embarked on our first trip to Belize with our BTP Emerging Professionals. Not only did we begin construction on our third home—this one for a local pastor and his family—but our leaders also donated funds to support teachers at a local school and opened a computer lab with over 30 laptops, helping to expand educational access.

June brought celebration as we honored our 67 Sr. Ambassadors in Charlotte and Atlanta. These incredible students shared their community impact and announced the colleges they will attend—collectively earning over $20 million in scholarships.

Because of your belief in our mission, young leaders are rising, giving back, and creating generational change. Thank you for continuing to stand with us—we are just getting started.

With gratitude,

John & Tammy Martin, Founders

Leaders Making An Impact

Your support made it possible for YBLA Ambassadors to build a home in Belize for Pastor Frederick—a selfless community leader—turning their service into an unexpected blessing for the very person who had spent years blessing others.

Thanks to the generous support of donors and partners like you, YBLA staff, Ambassadors, and YoPros were able to serve communities in Atlanta, Charlotte, and Belize this quarter. In Atlanta, your support helped us pack meals for the unhoused. In Charlotte, it enabled us to sort and donate essential items at Crisis Assistance Ministry. In Belize, your contributions made it possible to distribute shoes, deliver food, paint homes, complete our third home build, set up a computer lab, and speak at a girls’ empowerment conference. These meaningful efforts reflect the power of your continued investment in YBLA’s mission of service and leadership.

Scholar Day 2025

Scholar Day celebrations in both Atlanta and Charlotte were a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community invests in its young leaders.

Because of your support, scholarships were awarded, futures were unlocked, and the Class of 2025 Sr. Ambassadors shattered records — earning over $20 million in scholarship offers across the board.

YBLA Serves Belize

This quarter, YBLA Ambassadors and our Black Talent Pipeline served in Belize—building our third home, distributing shoes, delivering food, and connecting with the local community. Beyond construction, they led grassroots efforts through our Legacy Awards, providing over $1,600 in direct support to families and leaders. From launching a computer lab to hosting a girls' conference, their impact was both practical and powerful.

Thanks to supporters like you, this life-changing work was made possible.
