Creating A New Reality
GET TO KNOW US
At YBLA, we develop young black leaders to have a positive impact in their community and beyond. We focus on helping our young people become leaders that are college and career ready. As our young leaders strive to succeed, they are trained to reach back and mentor elementary, middle and high school students. We achieve our goals through Leadership, Service and Education.
TWO MAJOR PROGRAMS
Ambassadors & YLeader Program
YBLA have two major programs (Ambassadors & YLeader) specifically designed to address the unique needs of our young leaders.
Shaping leaders of today and tomorrow.
The YBLA Ambassador program is the organization’s flagship platform. Ambassadors are the face of the organization, personifying our commitment to student leadership, service, and education. The selection process for the program is highly competitive. We identify high school juniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who demonstrate leadership and participate in community service.
Building a Better Future through College and Career Readiness.
The new YLeader program is a competitive leadership program that includes individual and team challenges, points, and awards. The purpose is to provide leadership training to our young black leaders in a fun and interactive way. This model will allow students to become empowered and equipped to directly impact their peers and community.

THREE AREAS OF FOCUS
Leadership, Service and Education

Shaping leaders of today and tomorrow through local, national and international service.
The key to the future is education. YBLA focuses on continuous education from high school through college into professional career.

We have the knowledge, experience and best practices needed to work effectively with young leaders and their families. Our staff and volunteers bring expertise from the corporate, non-profit and education fields. We have forged several strategic relationships with colleges, universities, and businesses that allow us to connect our students to leadership, college, and career-related opportunities.
